i don't know how you wound up at my house at 3am, because you are not real, but there you were, standing on the roof, telling me about your father.

you soaked me in your sweat, leaning in close:

it was hazy, the whole 12 hours. i remember your knotted hair, and your long fingers, and what happened at the corners of your eyes when you spoke of your little sister.

the sun came up long before we fell asleep.
