"i don't like her being with him," she said.

"yeah," i said quietly. i couldn't have agreed more, but i didn't want them to know that.

"neither do i," my mom added, "he should be with you."

i was so glad it was dark out so they couldn't see me blushing.

"why don't you like it?" i asked.

she never gave me a straight answer.
